Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Head of HR to provide leadership and support to our UK HR Business Partner team of 4 while temporarily stepping in to cover some responsibilities of the Group HR Director during maternity leave. This role is a unique opportunity to contribute to strategic and operational HR activities, manage vital HR projects, and play a key role in driving our people agenda.

Reporting directly to the Chief People Officer (CPO), the Senior HR Business Partner will manage day-to-day HR operations, support the HR Business Partner team, and act as the primary point of contact for HR-related initiatives. A significant aspect of this role involves ensuring continuity and smooth functioning of the Group HR Director’s remit during their leave, including involvement in strategic decision-making and cross-functional collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maternity Cover for Group HR Director: Temporarily oversee responsibilities typically managed by the Group HR Director, ensuring seamless leadership and execution of strategic HR initiatives during their leave.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, manage, and mentor the HR Business Partner team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality support to business units.
  • Strategic Support: Partner closely with the CPO and senior leaders to align HR strategy with organisational goals, while maintaining operational excellence.
  • Project Management: Oversee and deliver key HR projects and initiatives, ensuring alignment with company objectives and timelines,  including regulatory projects.
  • Operational Oversight: Act as a go-to senior manager for HR-related queries, providing expert guidance on policy interpretation, employee relations, performance management, and other HR matters.
  • Change Management: Support the organisation through periods of transformation by implementing effective change management strategies.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with senior leaders and managers, offering trusted advice and support to help them achieve their goals while upholding company values.
  • Process and Policy Management: Continuously review and enhance HR processes to drive efficiency, compliance, and employee satisfaction.
  • Data and Insights: Use HR analytics to inform decision-making and provide recommendations that contribute to both business and people success.


Requirements

  • Proven experience as a HR Business Partner ready to take a step into a management role or in a senior HR leadership role, ideally with experience covering for senior HR leaders.
  • Strong leadership skills with a track record of managing and developing high-performing teams.
  • Exceptional project management and organisational abilities, with the capability to manage competing priorities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to influence and engage stakeholders across all levels.
  • Comprehensive understanding of HR principles, practices, and employment law.
  • Strategic thinker with a proactive approach to problem-solving and operational execution.
  • Experience in complex HR matters, including acquisitions and TUPE.
  • Discretion and integrity in handling sensitive matters.
