Main Purpose of the Role

The HR Assistant will support the UK HR Business Partner, in managing and executing the HR function. The role will support with the whole employee lifecycle to include: recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, and HR administration. The HR Assistant will play a key role in maintaining a positive workplace culture, providing excellent service to employees, and upholding the brand's commitment to being passionate, innovative and forward-thinking.

Responsibilities and duties

HR Administration

  • Maintain employee records and ensure data accuracy in HR systems.
  • Assist with the preparation and distribution of HR documents, such as contracts and policies.
  • Handle routine HR inquiries and provide timely responses to employee requests.

Payroll

  • Processing and preparing of payroll, to include new starters, leavers, family and variations to terms and conditions.
  • Respond to employee enquiries regarding payroll issues and discrepancies, ensuring timely resolution.

Recruitment Support:

  • Assist in posting job advertisements and managing recruitment channels.
  • Support with screening CVs, scheduling interviews, and acting as the bridge between candidates and recruiting managers.
  • Support the onboarding process for new hires (to include tech), ensuring a smooth transition.

Employee Relations:

  • Support the HR function in addressing employee concerns and resolving issues, in a prompt and timely manner.
  • Promote a positive work environment by assisting in the implementation of employee engagement initiatives.
  • Assist the Assistant Brand and Events Manager, in organising and coordinating company events and activities.

Compliance and Reporting:

  • Ensuring all HR documents are compliant, in line with company policies and employment laws.
  • Assist in preparing HR reports and analysing data for decision-making purposes.
  • Support the HR Business Partner in conducting audits and ensuring proper documentation.

Performance Management:

  • Support the HR Business Partner, and line managers with the yearly performance appraisal process.
  • Maintain a tracker of performance review dates and follow up with managers and employees to ensure timely completion.
  • Collect and maintain performance review records, including appraisal forms, feedback, and improvement plans.

Training and Development

  • Assist in identifying training needs and developing learning materials.
  • Coordinate training sessions and workshops for employees.
  • And any other duties required by your manager.

Person Specification

  • 1-2 years of experience in a similar HR Assistant/support role.
  • Methodical and accurate approach to practical tasks;
  • Commitment to training;
  • Trustworthy and understanding of confidentiality issues;
  • Professional, tactful and friendly attitude;
  • High level of concentration
  • Strong communicator
  • Ability to work effectively to deadlines;
  • Excellent team working skills;
  • IT literate
  • CIPD Desirable (but not essential)

Our home is located in Redditch, South Birmingham, with easy access routes to the M5/M42, a 20-minute walk to the train station, as well as many bus routes. Not forgetting Arrow Valley Lake which is a stone’s throw away and a beautiful spot to get those steps in or enjoy your lunch with a view.
