Hours – Full time – 37.5 hours per week.  Hybrid working available upon successful completion of probationary period. 


Holiday – 23 days annual leave (excluding bank holidays) increasing by one day per each year of service (up to a maximum of 5 days)

 


About the HR Assistant role

We have an exciting role for an HR Assistant to be based in our Portsmouth office.   We are looking for someone to work full time hours of 37.5 per week with hybrid working being available after successful completion of the probationary period.


Working in the central HR team and working closely with the other HR Assistants, HR Adviser, Senior HR Adviser and the Head of HR you will be providing a full HR administrative service to our Partners and offices in the group. 


Key responsibilities of an HR Assistant will include:



  • Managing new starter and leaver processes
  • Updating monthly payroll documentation and checking payslips
  • Monitoring sickness records on the HR system
  • Managing contractual changes and drafting all HR documentation to support these, ie new employment contracts and amendment to contract letters 
  • Salary and holiday calculations
  • Checks to ensure salaries meet NMW
  • Database management including running weekly reports
  • Answering a variety of HR related queries
  • Main point of contact for employee HR queries

 


About you 


We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience: 


  • minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a busy administrative role, ideally with at least 12 months in an HR role, ideally gained within a professional services team
  • understands and champions the importance of data integrity, timely and accurate reporting and uses this information to run efficient processes
  • demonstrates innovation in approach to problem solving and delivering an effective service
  • collaborative team player who seeks continuous improvement from self
  • adapts well to an ever changing landscape, demonstrates resilience, flexibility and energy
  • highly organised and confident in approach
  • ability to manage high workload and ensure deadlines are met
  • excellent IT skills, including a sound knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • confidence to talk to all levels of employees and partners within the Firm
  • willingness to work as an integral part of a busy team
