This role is based in our London office in the City . We have a hybrid working model.

We have standard benefits which comprise: 25 days holiday (prorated), discretionary annual bonus and private medical cover.

21 to 24 hours a week over 3 to 4 day per week. (To be mutually agreed). Flexible hours to suit the right candidate with core hours.


Summary: Reporting to the Business Operation Manager, the HR Manager is the first point of contact for managers and employees, providing support and solving problems. The role aims to provide general HR support across the employee lifecycle: recruitment, compensation and benefits, learning and development, employee engagement, performance management and employee relations, communications and administration.


Key Responsibilities

 


  • Provide an effective employee relations support service to all Line Managers which enables a productive and engaged team; to include absence, disciplinaries, grievances and sickness.
  • Working on our staff handbook to update and improving our policy. Working on filling gaps and improving clarity.
  • Provide training, support and coaching on processes and procedures, ensuring managers are updated on changes to employment legislation and best practice.
  • Provide the necessary tools and coaching to managers in support of performance management and development.
  • Work with managers to provide clear performance expectations, address development needs, and support employee growth.
  • Provide guidance on training and support for managers and their teams, including working with external suppliers of learning and development.  
  • Leading the recruitment process with best practice and coaching managers on selection process. 
  • Maintain job descriptions with the support of heads and managers.
  • Work closely with the leadership team in determining the compensation and benefits offer and provide advice and support to Line Managers and employees on company benefits, remuneration issues and benchmark data.  
  • Proactively identify best practice to develop People initiatives, present recommendations to the Leadership team for approval, including spend and added value outcomes, and lead project delivery. 
  • Preparation of change of conditions documentation and liaising with Finance on the administration of all changes to pay
  • Responsible for the onboarding and offboarding of employees, including drafting contracts, sending offer letters, setting new employees' files, background checks, confirmation letters etc.
  • Ensure new employees have an onboarding/induction plan and receive relevant information
  • Help maintain documentation, including company benefits, induction documentation, policy processes on Confluence pages for easy access to employees.

  • Ensuring the security of personal data and maintaining confidentiality on people related matters

 

  1. Person Specification


  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Legal or a related field or/and CPPIB qualified
  • Proven experience at HR manager level.
  • Confident in advising managers on all aspects of people management and development.  
  • Natural and credible influencer at all levels  
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills
  • Strong communication skills with a high standard of verbal and written English
  • Experience of prioritising a busy workload, ensuring deadlines are met
  • Accuracy and good attention to detail
  • Problem-solving and decision-making aptitude
  • Strong ethics, integrity and trust
  • Experience with EOS desirable but not required.
  • Experience with founder-owned and managed businesses.
  • Ideal industry is fintech, finance or software industry.
  • Experience with US employment and HR practice would be an advantage
