We are looking for an experienced HR Consultant to join the Resource, Pay & Conditions Team on a part time (28 hours) and temporary basis (until 31st Dec 2024). As a HR consultant, you will support a in the provision of a high quality and efficient Resourcing, Pay & Conditions service to all departments within the Council and external customers who contract the service. You will work collaboratively within a supportive team environment covering all aspects of recruitment, pay & conditions. You will maintain awareness and knowledge of latest resourcing practices, approaches, and methods, and deploy where appropriate
This role offers flexible working which includes: - Part time working hours (up to 28 hours, work pattern and days negotiable) to suit a work life balance and a blended approach to working from home and office based once a week and as and when required for meetings etc.

To be successful in this role, you should have a generalist HR background with a preferred specialist knowledge in recruitment, pay & conditions. Strong knowledge of local government policies, procedures, and conditions of service would be beneficial.
To be considered for this role, you should be working towards or have completed year 3 (electives) CIPD or equivalent in-depth knowledge and experience within an HR environment.
You will need to demonstrate and work to the Council’s Values and Behaviours.
